Job Description:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Educator and Learning Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and provide tailored educational experiences that foster academic and personal growth.

Role Overview:

We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the unique needs of each student. As an SEN Educator and Learning Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to the diverse learning requirements of students with SEN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Personalized Learning: Design and implement engaging lessons that meet the unique learning needs of each student, ensuring a positive and stimulating environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
  • Support Student Development: Foster the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with SEN, adapting teaching approaches based on student progress and needs.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for each student, ensuring a cohesive and effective educational experience.
  • Manage Classroom Environment: Ensure a safe, supportive, and positive environment that promotes learning and self-confidence, adhering to best practices in SEN teaching.
  • Assess and Report: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to parents, guardians, and other stakeholders, ensuring a seamless and effective communication process.
  • Stay Current: Stay updated with best practices in SEN teaching, attending relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with additional SEN certification preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in teaching and SEN principles.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching students with SEN is essential, showcasing a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with SEN.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and a proactive, creative approach to problem-solving, ensuring effective collaboration and student support.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of SEN legislation, including safeguarding and the SEND Code of Practice, demonstrating a commitment to best practices and compliance.
  • Commitment: A strong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students with special needs, driven by a passion for inclusive education and student success.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, reflecting the importance of this role in providing high-quality educational experiences for students with SEN.
