We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health Team in North Westminster. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical leadership and work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health services to adults in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior medical staff
- Manage and appraise junior medical staff, ensuring they operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant
- Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care
- Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, submitting it promptly through our clinical information systems
- Participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and mental health service
- Attend and participate in the monthly Borough Care Quality meeting
- Attend and participate in the academic program of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD program
- Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and abide by professional codes of conduct
- Provide senior clinical advice and support to daily triage, MDT, and other regular clinical team meetings
- Ensure all referrals are triaged daily and responded to in a timely manner
- Assess new patients and provide clinical supervision of assessments carried out by other team members
- Review complex needs patients to ensure appropriate care packages are put in place
- Carry out Mental Health Act-related work
- Conduct domiciliary visits to provide assessment and treatment services as a member of the CMHT
- Develop good working relationships with local GPs and other providers
- Provide mental health advice and support to GPs and primary care clinicians by surgery visits and other means
- Closely liaise with wards to facilitate admission and discharge planning
- Liaise with CRHTT, Psychiatric Liaison Services, AMHP services, and Forensic Services in the borough
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12
