Located at our Romford school site, you will be teaching GCSE or Entry Level maths to young people aged 13-16.


The successful candidate will deliver Maths (Entry Level and GCSE) to small groups of students (normally a maximum of twelve), marking work and assessments within the Maths team, and keeping up-to-date registers on attendance and progress.


You will also be responsible for attending meetings with parents and schools as required, being familiar with the Health and Safety Policy, and ensuring that high standards of Health and Safety are observed.


Experience in tutoring / teaching GCSE Maths and/or Entry Level Maths is required, ideally with one or more of the following qualifications: DET, Cert Ed, QTS / QTLS.


To be successful, you will need to form productive relationships with young people who can be among the more challenging, and have a flexible approach to both delivery and working methods / regime.


High level of ICT skills (MS Office including word, excel, access and PowerPoint) and ability to plan and prepare training sessions are essential.

Hours: Term time - 39 weeks, plus 8 holiday INSET days


Holiday entitlement: 20 days to be taken during school holidays plus bank holidays (5


Salary Range: Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications

Support students with special educational needs by employing appropriate teaching strategies


Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to excel in their studies


Stay updated on educational best practices and incorporate innovative teaching techniques into sessions


Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with children of various ages


Familiarity with special education practices is highly desirable


Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically


Relevant qualifications in education or a related field would be advantageous but not essential
