We are seeking an experienced Customs Clerk to join our team at Red Recruit, a leading recruitment agency specializing in freight and shipping. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising clients on customs procedures, dealing with queries, and arranging deliveries.
Duties of the Customs Clerk:
- Loading jobs in Multifreight when required
- Preparing CDS entries
- Ongoing learning of Customs Regimes/Commodity Codes/CPC Codes
- Handling post-clearance documents
- Communication with clients, shipping lines and overseas offices/agents
- Raising and passing invoices
- Assist and prepare for audits by HMRC
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance, commercial awareness, knowledge of tariffs and incoterms. Experience with Far-East imports and exports to EU, USA and Far-East is desirable but not essential.
We offer a competitive salary in the region of £28,000 (in line with experience and skills) + bonus, and a dynamic work environment. If you are a motivated and organized individual with a passion for international trade, please submit your CV for consideration.
