Comprehensive Acute Neurology Service

We are seeking a skilled Consultant Neurologist to join our dynamic team at the Transformation Unit, where you will deliver exceptional clinical, educational, and managerial services. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a passionate multi-disciplinary team to provide top-tier diagnosis and comprehensive care for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily in-reach ward referral services and cover colleagues during their absence.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and management teams to enhance clinical leadership and patient experiences.
  • Contribute to training and professional development of both medical and non-medical staff, including supervision of junior doctors and teaching sessions.
  • Support recruitment, appraisal, and mentoring within the team.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to lead our innovative MS service, guiding our MS nursing team and contributing strategic insights to enhance service development through the adoption of new technologies and treatments.

Requirements:
  • MBBS or other recognized equivalent medical qualification.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physician (MRCP) or equivalent.
  • Inclusion in the specialist register for Neurology, or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • Relevant higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent).

The successful candidate will be fully trained in Neurology, with experience of acute neurology, management of MS patients, and leading a change or innovation in the workplace with a multi-disciplinary team. They will also possess strong skills in teamwork, continuous improvement of patient and staff experience, and strategic planning and management.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be in the range of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, plus excellent benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, on-site nurseries, staff cafes, parking facilities, and salary sacrifice schemes.
