Job Title: Controls & Instrument Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls & Instrument Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specify control systems for process factories, including PLC hardware requirements, network communications, and power supply requirements.
  • Develop and implement SCADA design and configuration, including user interface and alarm management standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure the provision of design information and supervise the detail design drawing process.
  • Analyze plant process, commissioning, and test data to identify areas for performance and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop project proposals, including schedule and cost forecasts, and manage project deliverables.
  • Provide clear status reporting to internal and external stakeholders and liaise with the Section Head and other specialist engineers.
Requirements:
  • A good quality degree in electrical or electronic engineering or a related discipline, plus over 3 years of relevant experience in design.
  • UK experience in a process industry, such as chemical, oil/gas, water, or nuclear.
  • Experience of specifying or designing control systems for a range of applications in process factories and the capability to produce high-quality written specifications and reports.
  • PLC programming requirements and standards knowledge.
  • SCADA design and configuration experience, including user interface and alarm management standards.
  • Practical experience of equipment testing and production of specifications and logic simulation programs for control system designs.
  • Ability to manage project deliverables and provide clear status reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £50,000 to £70,000+ per annum, depending on experience.
  • Annual Company performance bonus (Est £3-4K per annum).
  • 25 days holiday rising to 28 days after 6 years' service.
