Job Title: Electrical Inspector

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is seeking a skilled Electrical Inspector for a 6-month contract. This role will be a hybrid working model, offering a rate of £16.17-£18.03/hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs, reporting to the Senior Inspector.
  • Carry out repair works as part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme.
  • Perform written annual inspections of electrical services for properties, providing recommendations and discussing with relevant team members for asset management strategy.
  • Respond to emergency requests for electrical repair work and arrange for remedial action to be taken.
  • Issue detailed repair instructions to contractors, check and verify submitted invoices prior to payment.
  • Supervise the completion of repair work and minor projects, ensuring value for money, quality, and best practice.
  • Liaise with premise managers to discuss repair work, minor planned budgets, and other relevant issues.
  • Have a working knowledge of energy management and plant control systems (BEMS) and conventional heat controls.
  • Provide an electrical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects.
  • Take reasonable care for health and safety, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and policies.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in the electrical services industry within the commercial services sector.
  • Appropriate construction/services related HNC or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of current/relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Good communication and negotiating skills.
  • Be mobile throughout the Council area.
Desirable Skills:
  • Contract management experience.
  • Current driving licence.
  • Membership of a relevant trade body.
  • Additional relevant training and experience.
  • Corporate membership.
  • Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Proficient use of IT software such as CAFM systems, maintenance works ordering, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
