Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Law Specialist to join our team at Strabag UK Limited.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned construction lawyer with experience in providing expert advice on construction contracts, contract reviews, and negotiation of settlements. You will work closely with our internal clients to provide high-quality legal support and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to our group companies, including contract reviews, notes of advice, and drafting various agreements such as construction contracts, design agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Support construction projects in all legal matters during all phases of the construction lifecycle, from reviewing legal documentation at the tender phase through to project completion.
  • Collaborate with external law firms and other central divisions within the company to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Requirements

  • You must be qualified as a solicitor under the laws of England and Wales or another common law jurisdiction, with a law degree or appropriate conversion degree(s). Post-graduate studies in construction law are desirable but not essential.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years' experience working in the UK construction industry, both in a legal and non-legal capacity, with a strong understanding of all standard forms of construction contracts, particularly the NEC and JCT forms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support contract negotiations and communicate effectively with internal clients and colleagues.
  • A self-motivated individual with a proactive approach, able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong drive for action and personal responsibility.
