Highway Network Coordinator
We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Network Coordinator to join our team at Lancashire County Council. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Bamber Bridge or County Hall, Preston.
The role of the Highway Network Coordinator is crucial to ensuring that Lancashire County Council meets its obligations under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and ensures the processing of Street works permits on Lancashire's Highway Network.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Processing Permit applications by utilities and the council operations team to ensure that the works are coordinated on the network.
- Undertaking various administrative functions within the street works team, including financial tasks such as invoicing for Streetworks permits, licenses, TTRO`s and advertising.
- Managing Highway Sponsorship sites, direct debits and queries.
You will contribute to the vital role of ensuring all financial aspects of highway activity are maintained and processed in a timely fashion. The role involves invoicing for digital permits, licenses, and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders. You will have a strong focus on the efficient programming and delivery of Street Works and Road works, events, skips, scaffold, and other activities that will occur on the highway.
You will be the first point of contact for Lancashire County Council's Highways Sponsorship scheme, dealing with monthly direct debits and working closely with other internal departments to organize signage for new sponsors.
The role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle customers who may be unhappy about road works. A high level of computer literacy is essential for this role, and you will use the council's street manager interface software, Symology.
Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, including up to 32 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous Local Government pension, and discounts on white goods and electronics.
