Corporate Accountant Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Accountant to join our team at AIG. As a Corporate Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, including Talbot consolidation and Group reporting to AIG, corporate entity reporting, UK and overseas statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting to Lloyd's and other regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely corporate reporting, including Talbot consolidation and Group reporting to AIG, corporate entity reporting, UK and overseas statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting to Lloyd's and other regulators.
  • Produce committee and board packs.
  • Ensure efficient and effective accounting processes and controls.
  • Intercompany reconciliations for service level agreements.
  • Balance sheet substantiation.
  • Support interim and year-end SOX requirements.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely broker financial reviews.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained for key processes and controls.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in new financial reporting standards/disclosures and production of associated accounting judgment papers.
  • Support complete, accurate, and timely tax submissions – this includes corporate tax returns for UK and overseas, Lloyd's related submissions, Singapore GST, tax certificates, and SAO documentation.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with minimum 3 years PQE.
  • Experience of working in a similar role within the insurance industry.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Good knowledge of general ledger systems (e.g., SAP/Sun).
  • Good knowledge of financial processes and controls.
  • Tax knowledge desirable.
