About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Sustainability to join our Corporate Affairs department at Lidl GB's Head Office in Tolworth.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering Lidl GB's Sustainability strategy nationwide, ensuring alignment with our company's values and goals.

You will lead the Sustainability team and report directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs, providing strategic counsel and guidance on CSR-related matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing the sustainability strategy across the business and setting targets and commitments.
  • Overseeing the management of CSR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supplier performance data.
  • Providing CSR-related counsel to the Board, including performance updates, risks, opportunities, and market developments.
  • Identifying and developing key sustainability programs to deliver against business goals and commitments.
  • Acting as a figurehead for sustainability across the business, embedding a positive culture and best practices, and externally with key CSR stakeholders.
  • Representing Lidl GB on sustainability positions at external events.
  • Overseeing the delivery of sustainability-related communication, both internal and external.
  • Leading and chairing the strategic CSR steering committee.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building high-performing and professional teams.
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, within tight deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to persuade and convince others.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and internationally.
  • German language skills would be advantageous.
