About the Role

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Permit to Work Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe execution of works on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Third-Party Contractors and Client Team

Work closely with third-party contractors and the client team to enable safe execution of works on site. This includes reviewing all relevant risk assessments and method statements, as well as auditing works to ensure compliance with company and client procedures.

Permit to Work Officer Role

As a Permit to Work Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing relevant RAMS for permittable works in a timely manner and conducting site walkarounds
  • Validating all necessary information is provided for permits and RAMS
  • Approving or rejecting permits
  • Completing timely audits to live works to ensure RAMS are being fully adhered to
  • Identifying any parties, including permit issuers and contractors, who are not conforming to the defined procedure and raising via the formal process
  • Ensuring all permits are issued, monitored, and closed in accordance with site procedure
  • Supporting and reviewing third-party contractor job/permit packs in preparation for works to be carried out
  • Liaising with relevant authorized personnel to identify isolation requirements for works
  • Supporting in managing and planning remedial and/or out-of-scope works
  • Assisting with specialist areas, such as spreadsheet and internal audits
  • Liaising with GSK and service partners as required
  • Maintaining relevant personal training
  • Liaising with and supporting PTWO Team Leaders and Director
Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of and exposure to construction H&S and facilities management H&S
  • Minimum NEBOSH OHS Certificate or equivalent (desirable - Diploma/NVQ6, or working towards)
  • Experience within pharmaceutical R&D or similar multi-site environment
  • Experience of permit-to-work systems
  • Good all-round technical knowledge of building services and relevant processes
  • Client-facing and articulate with the ability to own, manage, and ensure compliance with company and client procedures and processes
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service
