As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance, repair, and fault finding on rail vehicles to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake all types of mechanical and electrical maintenance work, repair, and fault finding on rolling stock.
- Ensure that any maintenance undertaken is done in accordance with our company's safety regulations.
- Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional workmanship of self and others under their charge.
- Undertake detailed fault finding and investigation on specific technical issues.
- Identify possible improvements and feedback into engineering.
- Comply with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident-free environment.
- Co-operate with management in all matters relating to health and safety.
- Advise on any defects/deficiencies in equipment/arrangements that could compromise the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Extensive all-round knowledge of modern rolling stock systems.
- Experience of depot operations and fault finding techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Formal electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (e.g. apprenticeship, degree, HND, HNC, 16th/17 edition, 2391 testing).
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship (electrical or mechanical apprenticeship).
- Education to a high standard in an engineering discipline (e.g. HND/HNC).
