Position Overview

The Head of UK Underwriting will advise, develop, and provide leadership in relation to MRS-GM underwriting business in the UK. This role will work on strategic activities with the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and oversee the run-off activities of the Groves John Westrup (GJW) businesses.

This position involves managing Lines of Business (LoBs) underwriters writing business on behalf of MRSI UK to ensure compliance with Lloyd's, FCA, and PRA Rules, while maximizing profit and maintaining Munich Re Group's reputation and integrity.

  • Attend underwriting strategy meetings, representing and promoting MRS-GM regulated legal entities externally.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with Senior Management colleagues and other functions.
  • Report any significant failures to comply with regulations to Compliance immediately.
  • Contribute to the definition and promotion of the MRS-GM strategy.

Leadership:

  • Support underwriting activities and performance to achieve business objectives and targets.
  • Strong understanding of business planning and regulatory issues.

Location: This opportunity is open to considering candidates nationally across the UK, where the successful candidate will be tied to their closest MRS-GM regional office on a full-time basis.
