About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Process Scientist to join our team at Anglian Water. As a key member of our Water Recycling Services, you will play a crucial role in delivering wastewater process science support and advising on compliance and treatment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement strategies to fully exploit the potential of our infrastructure and reduce operational expenditure.
  • Provide process advice and support to proactively reduce energy and chemical usage.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments and action plans to maintain compliance.
  • Scientifically lead the prevention and resolution of incidents and non-conformance affecting processes and network infrastructure.
  • Support Operational Managers in handling customer complaints and enquiries.
  • Develop and implement sampling programmes to measure process performance and interpret data.
  • Lead scientific and regulatory liaison with local authorities.
  • Provide rotational scientific standby support.
Requirements
  • Background in wastewater management or educated to degree level in a relevant scientific subject.
  • Strong IT skillset, specifically around data manipulation and data interpretation.
  • Demonstrable expertise in wastewater collection and treatment as well as sludge treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence others.
  • Proven problem-solving capability.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Possesses the skillset to work autonomously as well as cross-collaborate with teams.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Full driving license is essential for this role.
