Job Title: Applications Designer

Reporting to the Application Development and Support Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of all application enhancements, application support, and application monitoring. This includes data capture and storage technologies, such as Sembcorp UK historian services, as well as the provision and management of these services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop APIs for easy access to data across the Wilton business
  • Work with the Application Development and Support Manager to define the right support model for all applications and ensure an economy of scale
  • Migrate applications to the cloud where possible, working with the Cloud Architect and DevOps resource
  • Work with the OT team to identify data sources across the Wilton Asset base and bring these data sources into one central repository
  • Define an accurate list of operational data assets and their associated metadata
  • Develop and enhance the current change control application to ensure transparency of work being carried out by Digital & Technology
  • Work with the performance engineering team to ensure an accurate repository of data across both businesses
  • Development of APIs to improve the efficiency of application development
Requirements:
  • Responsible for software development, configuring, and implementation of operational data repositories, reporting, documentation, and maintenance of current applications within the Wilton business
  • Audit and improve reporting, data cleansing, collection, and expansion of data collection
  • Reduce the current Wilton Application base and migrate applications and supporting data to Azure, ensuring customer needs are met
  • Migrate current application development away from web forms structure and either archive or redevelop applications based on redundant technologies
