Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Art Education Leader to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the Art Department and overseeing the development of a high-quality art curriculum for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement an inspiring and inclusive art curriculum for students, aligning with national standards and Ofsted requirements.
  • Department Leadership: Lead the Art Department, overseeing teaching, learning, and staff performance, ensuring that all students are encouraged and challenged to achieve their full potential.
  • Teaching and Learning: Drive the development of high-quality teaching and learning strategies to enhance student outcomes, fostering a positive and creative learning environment.
  • Staff Management: Support, mentor, and manage the performance of staff within the department, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality art education.
  • Resource Management: Manage the department's budget and resources effectively, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available to support teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years' teaching experience, ideally in a secondary school setting, with previous leadership or management experience within an educational context.
  • Skills: Proven track record of raising standards in Art through innovative teaching practices, strong understanding of the national curriculum and Ofsted requirements, excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Passion for Art: A passion for art and creativity, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities, and a commitment to the holistic development of students.
