Data Centre Electrical Engineer

Cpl Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Greater London Area. As a key member of our Data Centre Engineering Operations (DCEO) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the maintenance and operation of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to the highest standards.
  • Supervise corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, including risk management and mitigation.
  • Assist in the design and build of new data halls and data centres.
  • Manage sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with safety practices.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in the data centre.
  • Project manage operational aspects of the data centre, including asset and inventory management.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of work experience in a critical operations environment.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Good understanding of data centre critical infrastructure, including diesel generators, chillers, cooling towers, and HV/LV electrical distribution systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low voltage (copper/fibre) cabling.
