Job Description

Academics Ltd is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant - Psychology Graduate to join our team in Cowley, Oxford. This role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology who are looking to gain valuable experience working with children with social and emotional mental health needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with complex needs in a specialist school setting. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality care and support to students. Your primary responsibility will be to support students with complex needs, develop and implement individualized plans to meet their needs, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any psychology graduate to work alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists based on-site at the school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus, you will gain invaluable experience working with special needs and mental health issues.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced in working with children with social and emotional mental health needs. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behavior are desirable.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support students with complex needs in a specialist school setting
  • Work effectively with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality care and support
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the needs of students

**Requirements:**

  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology
  • Experience working with children with social and emotional mental health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
