Job Title: Artificial Intelligence Software Developer

We are seeking a talented Artificial Intelligence Software Developer to join our team in London. As a key member of our iPlayer, Sounds and Partnerships department, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the APIs and associated AWS infrastructure that powers BBC Sounds on Web, Mobile, Car, Voice, and TV.

Our team works closely with the frontend and editorial teams in BBC Sounds and collaborates with wider BBC teams such as Recommendations and the iPlayer backend teams. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing new features to improving and scaling our existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient APIs using Java and Scala.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with product managers and delivery managers to provide technical guidance and estimates for project planning.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Java and Scala programming languages.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud platform and experience with building and maintaining infrastructure on cloud platforms.
  • Experience with unit testing and TDD.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
