About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist Child Care Assistant to join our Community Children's Nursing team in Greenwich. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex health needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a dedicated team providing holistic care to children aged 0-19 years with severe learning disabilities, life-limiting, and life-threatening conditions.
  • To carry out individualized care plans developed by Lead Continuing Care nurses, supervised by Assistant Practitioners, and trained in competency-based skills such as tracheostomy care and enteral feeding.
  • To ensure high standards of personal care, including hygiene, and provide emotional support to children and their families.
  • To maintain accurate records of care and report any concerns or issues to senior clinicians.
  • To participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the development of the team.
Key Requirements:

This role requires:

  • An NVQ 3 or Cavendish Care certificate in Healthcare.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and complex health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing situations.
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
