Teaching Opportunity in Shetland Islands

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of English to join our team at Anderson High School in Lerwick, Shetland Islands.

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching, learning, and inclusion, with the skills, confidence, and energy to make a positive impact on the lives of our children and young people.

Our school is excellently resourced, and our beautiful location offers great opportunities for learning. We benefit from a caring, supportive community and extensive transport arrangements into Lerwick.

As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students of various ages and abilities. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of our school's curriculum and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in teaching English language and literature
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS)

What We Offer

  • A permanent full-time post for 35.0 hours per week
  • A salary inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2, per annum
