About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team at Chellow Heights Special School. As a Deputy Headteacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Headteacher in driving forward continuous whole school improvement and developing strategic initiatives.

You will be responsible for leading on curriculum development, monitoring and analysing outcomes, and supporting the development of staff. You will also be expected to have a strong understanding of special educational needs and be able to provide support and guidance to teachers and support staff.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in a special school setting, with experience of managing staff performance and professional development. You will also have a strong understanding of successful strategies for meeting the needs of children with complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, and ASC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing school improvement strategies
  • Lead on curriculum development and implementation
  • Monitor and analyse student outcomes and progress
  • Support the development of staff, including performance management and professional development
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and support staff on special educational needs
  • Contribute to the development of the school's culture and practice
