The Prep Paint Technician is a critical role within ABL 1Touch, responsible for ensuring the repair of motor vehicles meets industry standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle structure and paintwork to identify areas requiring repair.
  • Implement efficient and safe repair methods to maintain vehicle quality and safety.
  • Restore vehicles to industry-recognized standards through the application of technical knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure vehicles comply with safety standards upon return to customers, or report faults and note them on the job card.
  • Remove and safely store vehicle components, fluids, and gases as directed by work orders.
  • Conduct quality control checks on all repairs, with final stage sign-off.
  • Report all faults and defects noticed during vehicle repairs.
  • Verify that repair methods are documented in the job pack and displayed with the vehicle at all times.
  • Interpret and implement technical service instruction data.
  • Order replacement parts and record usage.
  • Apply paint mixing schemes, computerized scales, spray booths, and drying lamps to achieve accurate paint repair.
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety standards upon return to customers, or report faults and note them on the job card.
  • Apply topcoat to manufacturer specifications.
  • Prepare repaired areas as directed by work orders, in readiness for topcoat application.
