Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Principal Consultant to lead our Flood Risk and Resilience team within the Environmental Services division of BMT Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in flood risk assessment, flood defence management, and coastal risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in flood risk assessment, flood defence management, and coastal risk management
- Lead the delivery of flood risk and resilience projects to schedule and budget, ensuring high-quality results and client satisfaction
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the flood risk and resilience market, and develop strategies to capitalize on these
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to share knowledge and best practices, and to drive innovation and improvement
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical advice and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering Science, Geography, or Environmental Science
- At least 10 years of experience in flood risk assessment, flood defence management, and coastal risk management
- Deep understanding of flood risk assessment methods, including the application of modeling software such as TUFLOW and FMP
- Strong capability in writing compelling technical proposals and managing risks to the organization
- Ability to develop innovation ideas related to flood risk and resilience, and to work with others to bring them to commercialization
- Self-motivated and logical approach to problem-solving, with a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of a successful business
