Rutherford, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Energy Lawyer to join their market-leading corporate energy practice in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to work on high-profile transactions across the oil, gas, infrastructure, and broader energy sectors. The successful candidate will be integral to managing complex private M&A and project development transactions across various geographies.

The Role

You will draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including sale and purchase agreements, share subscription and joint venture agreements, pre-bid agreements, and ancillary transaction documents. You will also lead large-scale due diligence exercises and collaborate with colleagues and external advisors to provide seamless client service.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents for high-profile transactions.
  • Leading large-scale due diligence exercises and collaborating with teams.
  • Providing exceptional client service and building strong relationships.
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • 4+ Years of PQE corporate transactional experience in the energy sector.
  • Excellent academic track record and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven client-facing experience and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
