About the Role

This is a lead role within the Student Records & Awards unit, assuming people management and responsibility for the provision of an efficient, assessment, awards, conferment and graduation processes and deliverables. The role will also include responsibility for the delivery of award ceremonies in accordance with the academic calendar(s). Working with key stakeholders to plan and deliver an excellent experience for our graduates and guests for all Derby and Buxton Graduation ceremonies.

About You

You will have responsibility for the strategic direction and operational management of a customer-focused Assessment and Awards service. As an effective communicator, you will play a key role in delivering service improvement objectives, working with partners and key stakeholders. This is a key role within our service, so we are looking for someone with the drive and ambition to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage change and business transformation, proactively pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Deliver an excellent experience for our graduates and guests for all Derby and Buxton Graduation ceremonies.
  • Work with key stakeholders to plan and deliver award ceremonies in accordance with the academic calendar(s).
  • Provide an efficient, assessment, awards, conferment and graduation processes and deliverables.
  • Manage people and be responsible for the provision of an Assessment and Awards service.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a senior role within service delivery, support or customer services.
  • Experience of working in an event management and delivery type role.
  • Ability to implement and manage change and business transformation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with people at all levels across the University, and/or external stakeholders.
  • Experience of negotiating.
