About the Role:
As a Mine Closure Specialist at SLR, you will lead and support the delivery of mine closure projects, working closely with our in-house technical disciplines. This role offers the opportunity to apply your experience and knowledge of the mine closure process, contribute to growing the technical capability of our mine waste team, and develop a specialist team to take on and deliver mine closure projects.
About You:
To succeed in this role, we would expect you to be degree qualified in geotechnical, civil, or mining engineering, with Chartered status or eligibility, and substantial relevant mining/geotechnical experience. You should have a proven ability to lead projects from concept to final design and implementation, provide sound direction and advice to clients, and demonstrate excellent report writing and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the delivery of mine closure projects.
- Contribute to growing the technical capability of the mine waste team.
- Develop a specialist team to take on and deliver mine closure projects.
- Work with an experienced team to support your ambitions for professional development.
- Develop meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Establish your reputation as a leader in mine closure within a diverse, well-managed international business.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in geotechnical, civil, or mining engineering.
- Chartered status or eligibility.
- Substantial relevant mining/geotechnical experience.
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept to final design and implementation.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of mining industry standards.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Demonstrate good technical ability in mine closure.
- Demonstrate experience in the application of industry standard guidance.
- Demonstrate leadership within a consultancy business.
- Be proficient in business, client, and project development.
- Well-developed creative, lateral thinking, sound judgement, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
- Be motivated to pass on your knowledge by mentoring and managing junior staff.
- Must have a full driving license, valid in the UK.
