What You'll Do
As a Mechanical and Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering duties on substation plant and equipment. This will include installation, refurbishment, and maintenance of existing equipment, fault investigation and repair, and routine condition monitoring.
You will benefit from industry-leading training at our facilities in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, and other substation sites. You will work on complex 275kV or 400kV circuit breakers, transformers, high-speed on-load tap changers, and cable systems, as well as ancillary equipment such as DC battery systems, air compressors, and diesel generators.
Requirements
• A minimum Level 2/3 recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or an NVQ/Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant fitting experience
• Good all-round engineering skills, including working to safety procedures, mechanical fitting, electrical fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, working at height, lifting operations, panel wiring, and fault finding
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to use a computer
• Due to the nature of our work, you must live in Swansea or nearby surrounding areas
