Principal Scaffolder

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Scaffolder - Structural Engineering to join our team in Aberdeen, UK. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and delivering scaffold solutions for our offshore and onshore projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and deliver complex scaffolding solutions for our clients, ensuring compliance with relevant British and European standards.
2. Collaborate with clients and site teams to discuss and resolve major structural scaffold design requirements.
3. Provide technical guidance, calculations, and detailing of structural scaffolds to ensure high-quality construction.
4. Conduct regular site surveys and provide follow-up reporting.
5. Promote scaffold innovations and services to the wider Bilfinger group.
6. Support the development and implementation of workpacks related to scaffold design, including estimating, risk assessments, and checking designs.
7. Lead and manage projects, ensuring quality and compliance with internal processes and procedures.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in scaffold design or temporary works.
• BEng (or above) in Structural/Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient user of AutoCAD software.
• Understanding of structural mechanics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• 3D CAD modelling experience is desirable.
• Industrial scaffold experience is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience of structural analysis software is desirable.
• BOSIET is desirable.
• MIST is desirable.
• Medical certification is desirable.

Benefits

As a Principal Scaffolder - Structural Engineering, you can expect a competitive salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
