Job Opportunity

Card Factory is seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to support our finance team in managing inventory reporting, stocktake planning, reconciliation, and valuation of £50m+ of inventory.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and inventory management, with experience in managing inventory finance and stakeholder relationships. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with external audit requirements, managing store stocktakes, and identifying inventory balance sheet risks and opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant accountancy qualification, post-qualified experience in a large retail environment, and strong analytical and Excel skills. They will also have the ability to manage workload efficiently, handle conflicting priorities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliation to the General Ledger.
  • Coordinate interim and year-end DC stocktakes.
  • Ensure compliance with all external audit requirements.
  • Manage store stocktakes, including year-end, interim, seasonal, and ad hoc counts.
  • Review stock provision policy and its impact on the P&L.
  • Identify inventory balance sheet risks and opportunities.
