Prospero Teaching is seeking an exceptional Youth Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will work with disengaged pupils in a SEMH School environment, providing opportunities for academic, social, and emotional progress.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead sports and activity sessions, understand individuals' personalities and needs, and offer guidance and mentoring. You must have an understanding/interest in sports and provide a safe environment to learn.

You will also be responsible for dealing with any challenging or disruptive behaviour, offering advice and support, and developing self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence among students. Additionally, you should be fully compliant with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 6 months of experience working with children in the UK. A sports background and strong personality are also essential. A DBS on the update service is preferred but not a necessity. You will also need to be able to attain a reference from working with children or care.

We estimate that the salary for this role is around £29,000 - £33,000 per year, depending on experience.
