Senior Microbiologist

Clinical Professionals Limited is partnering with a clinical-stage biopharma company in the Cambridge area to recruit for a Senior Research Scientist. The successful candidate will assist in developing microbiology and molecular assays to support microbiome therapies for ulcerative colitis and oncology.

• Create and optimize quality control assays for bacterial drug production, ensuring high-quality results.
• Support the development of live bacterial therapeutics for regulatory approval, adhering to industry standards.
• Provide microbiology expertise across different teams, contributing to collaborative research efforts.
• Oversee day-to-day lab operations, guiding junior team members in laboratory procedures.

1. A PhD in Microbiology or a related field (or equivalent experience), demonstrating advanced knowledge in the field.
2. A creative and proactive approach to work, driving innovative solutions in laboratory settings.
3. Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures, including Risk Assessments, to ensure a safe working environment.
4. Experience in an industrial or GxP environment, showcasing ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

The estimated salary for this position is around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, reflecting the company's commitment to competitive compensation.
