Cyber Security IT Analyst

Hub Consulting is seeking a skilled Cyber Security IT Analyst to join our team. As a Cyber Security IT Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring and defending our IT infrastructure against potential security threats.

About the Role

As a Cyber Security IT Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and Compliance Centre.
  • Analysing security logs and data to identify potential threats and take appropriate actions.
  • Managing and responding to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring effective resolution and learning for future mitigation.
  • Proactively analysing and interpreting logs to detect anomalies, vulnerabilities, or potential security risks.
  • Staying current with cybersecurity trends and continuously improving our defences against new and evolving threats.
  • Working with teams across the organisation to promote and implement cybersecurity best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications: Degree or significant relevant experience. Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a cybersecurity role, such as a Security Analyst or Incident Responder. Hands-on experience with Microsoft security tools and demonstrable knowledge in log analysis and security incident management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and strong knowledge of network fundamentals and security protocols.
