Ministry of Justice Chaplaincy Role

The Ministry of Justice is looking for a skilled Anglican Chaplain to fill a vacancy at HMP Erlestoke. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of prisoners and staff.

About the Position:

  • Offer faith and belief support to prisoners and staff, drawing from your expertise in Anglican traditions.
  • Develop and implement programs for worship, meditation, and study, engaging with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Collaborate with other chaplains, volunteers, and external agencies to create a supportive prison community.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and pastoral care, helping prisoners navigate challenging situations.
  • Play a key role in establishing connections with local faith communities and other organizations to support prisoners upon release.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a multi-faith environment
  • Strong knowledge of Anglican faith and belief systems

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
