Fire Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Design Engineer to join our Asset Intelligence Business in Warrington. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading site visits, developing technical specifications, and liaising with sub-contractor design teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site visits and act as the point of contact for sub-contractor designers
- Develop technical specifications following site visits and scans
- Liaise with sub-contractor design teams to refine scope of works
- Check sub-contractor's price and specifications for completeness, quality, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
- Complete Tender TQs and own the Tender TQ register
- Assist project and tendering teams in producing technical documentation
- Ensure design processes and procedures are followed
- Assist with documentation for fire accreditation
- Ascertain client requirements through specification documents and site visits
- Work with the Head of Design and AI delivery staff to ensure designs are value-engineered and compliant with client specifications
- Promote innovation and challenge parties to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Provide technical input into fire installer/supplier subcontract orders
- Produce design documentation, including detector layouts, zone drawings, and fire strategies
- Feed information into design management plan, design programme, and other design quality deliverables
- Review, check, and approve design deliverables
- Feed information to the Head of Design on possible CE's and EW's
- Ensure no scope creep and manage design changes through the Change Control Process
About You:
- Experience and knowledge of integrated fire systems, including detection, suppression, fire stopping, networking, and risk assessment
- Experience of system integration and management systems
- Experience with AMTECH for system power design
- Sound knowledge of fire equipment and devices
- BIM/PAS
- Experience of producing URS and FDS documents to client briefs and specifications
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works requirements
- Industry-applicable ONC/HNC/NVQ equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including AutoCAD software
- Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values, and culture
