Job Title: Electrical Control Panel Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Control Panel Engineer to join our team in Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, installing, commissioning, modifying, maintaining, and testing electrical motor control centres (MCCs) and distribution switchboards in our workshops and on customers' sites within the UK, offshore, and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Factory testing and installation of electrical control panels.
  • Site commissioning of products, including motor starter panels and variable speed drives.
  • Conducting fault finding, current injection, voltage application, insulation resistance, and high voltage pressure testing.
  • Excellent control panel wiring skills, including looming and wiring in trunking.
  • Excellent fitting skills for marking off, cutting, and drilling.
  • Ability to travel worldwide at short notice.
  • Protecting and maintaining the local and global environment.

Requirements:

  • Electrical qualification, such as an HNC, HND, or NVQ in Electrotechnology, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in primary and secondary injection of thermal and electronic protection relays.
  • Setting up and commissioning variable speed drives and electronic motor controllers.
  • Maintaining a valid driving license and passport.
  • Passing an annual medical and OGUK.
  • Participating in training courses and company announcements.
  • Complying with the conditions and contract of employment.

Working Hours & Benefits:

Normal workshop hours are 08:30 to 16:45, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime. Hours on site are specified by the client and could be up to 12 hours per day, especially offshore.

  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme with contributions matched up to 5%.
  • 25 days annual leave, with 3 taken over the Christmas/New Year holiday period.
  • Additional payments for weekend, overseas, and offshore work.
  • Ability to earn additional days off, lieu days, which can be carried over year after year.
  • Performance-related bonuses and gifts.
