Job Title: Sea Freight Operator

We are seeking an experienced Sea Freight Operator to join our team at Red Recruit Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the operations of our international logistics client in Essex.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operations of deep sea imports from the Far East/Asia
  • Book shipments with carriers and reconcile invoices
  • Manage revenue and control costs
  • Liaise with customers, customs authorities, and third-party partners
  • Handle customs clearances and gather necessary paperwork for cargo release/delivery
  • Oversee the collection and delivery process to ensure shipments reach their final destination
  • Collaborate with a small team to cover all areas of the forwarding process
  • Book freight movements across different transport modes
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide quotes
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in end-to-end Import Sea Freight Forwarding operations
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, commodity codes, and related paperwork
  • Experience with Import and Export customs entries using CDS
  • Commercial awareness and excellent communication skills

We are keen to hear from individuals with experience as a Customs Operator, Customs Clerk, or Customs Coordinator who have customer-facing operations experience, knowledge of import/export operations and CDS.
