Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom EDF Full time

At EDF, we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, that when operational will provide low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

We are looking for a Data Control Lead to join our HPC Technical Directorate. The Technical Directorate is responsible for managing the design of the entire plant of HPC, ensuring it's done safely and meets quality, schedule, and cost targets.

SWITCH PLM is a system that helps digitise and integrate key processes related to engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the HPC project. Within this setup, the Configuration Management and Control team oversees the entire configuration management process, handles certain change procedures, and is in charge of gathering engineering data from the design team.

As the Data Control Lead, you will be part of the team that focuses on methods, tools, and data within this configuration management group.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Methods, Tools, and Data Manager by overseeing the monitoring and management of source data, ensuring its collection, quality, consistency, and reporting through dashboards and KPIs.
  2. Supervise a small team of Data Stewards to maintain data quality and integrity within the HPC Digital tools.
  3. Interface with the Responsible Designer to ensure data is correctly provided as per the data transfer protocol, and work with SWITCH to confirm that data is processed and uploaded properly.
  4. Identify new data requirements across multiple stakeholders and request SWITCH to implement any necessary data changes or new requirements.

Requirements

  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills, able to engage with a variety of stakeholders across the wider business.
  • Organised and motivated, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Previous experience in line management, in order to support a small team of Data Stewards.
  • Thrives in an autonomous work environment, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Confident in resolving straightforward issues within your technical discipline.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft software and can efficiently manage your work with these tools.
