Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom UKCIL Ltd Full time
Job Title: Special Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Support Worker to provide care and support for our 14-year-old son, Willam, in various activities and daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accompany Willam to community activities, ensuring he has access to his favorite pursuits.
  • Engage in garden activities, such as playing on the swing and trampoline.
  • Provide intimate care support when needed (rare).
  • Respect Willam's need for space during anxious moments.

About Willam:

Willam is a non-verbal individual who communicates using Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) and gestures. He relies on a visual timetable to stay organized but may require assistance with this.

Willam can become anxious and upset, especially in situations involving loud noises or unexpected changes. He appreciates calm instruction and may need space to calm down on his own. In times of distress, he benefits from comfort and sometimes requires food and drink to help him relax.

Due to limited awareness of danger, Willam may refuse to enter new places, so planned routes are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

A car driver is preferred, as we need someone to transport Willam to various locations.

The successful candidate will be available to work mostly during school holidays and some weekends, with flexible scheduling possible.

Salary: £15.00 per hour
