Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child in a Key Stage 2 class at a Good Primary School in the Blackburn area.

The school has a diverse student body and actively encourages candidates from all backgrounds to join their team. The role involves supporting a child with mild autism and communication difficulties, who requires assistance around the school grounds.

This is a full-time position with the possibility of moving into a permanent contract. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people, be passionate about education, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a child with mild autism and communication difficulties
  • Work on a one-to-one basis with the child in a Key Stage 2 class
  • Assist the child around the school grounds
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the child's learning
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to ensure the child's needs are met

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Passion for education and supporting children with special needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce only)
