This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical fellow to gain further experience and training in a variety of sub-specialties, including Upper GI, Colorectal and Breast surgery.
About the RoleThis post offers the opportunity to work in a consultant-led team, providing care to patients on both acute and elective wards, as well as out-patient clinics, endoscopy, and theatre. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all teaching opportunities and contribute to the organisation and delivery of undergraduate teaching programmes. A full training programme is provided, along with additional learning opportunities and consultant supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including acute and elective wards, out-patient clinics, endoscopy, and theatre
- Contribute to teaching and education, including the organisation and delivery of undergraduate teaching programmes
- Participate in clinical research and audit, and contribute to the development of new initiatives
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced surgical fellow who has a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care and contributing to teaching and education. The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised higher medical qualification (FRCS or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in breast and gastrointestinal surgery special interest pertinent to the post
- Evidence of clinical audit and research experience
- A major interest and expertise in general surgery
Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust offers a competitive salary, along with a range of benefits, including:
