Head of Design and Technology Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Design and Technology to lead our thriving department at a highly regarded secondary school in South London.

About the School:

Our client school boasts a strong academic reputation and is committed to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures both intellectual curiosity and practical skills. Design and Technology plays a vital role in their curriculum, and we seek an exceptional leader to further develop and elevate this area.

About the Role:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Design and Technology department, setting the direction and ensuring its continued success.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with national standards and inspires students' passion for design and innovation.
  • Lead a dedicated team of Design and Technology teachers, providing mentorship and fostering their professional development.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Design and Technology department, including budgeting, resources, and health and safety.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and implement strategies to continuously improve learning outcomes.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive learning environment.

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in Design and Technology, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrable track record of driving improvement within a Design and Technology department.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for design thinking, problemsolving, and fostering creativity in students.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate young people, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
