Location: Chester
We are seeking a skilled Junior Information Security Specialist to join our team at Digital Waffle, a growing financial company. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in information security concepts, a degree in information security or a related field, and at least one year of hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement and manage security measures to safeguard our information systems.
- Monitor security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to mitigate potential threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of our systems and processes.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Provide support in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS systems.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in information security, proactively recommending improvements to enhance our security posture.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in information security.
- Strong understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in information security.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are a plus.
