Job Title: Primary School HLTA Support Teacher

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced HLTA to support a class teacher in a primary school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lessons, leading small group interventions, and providing cover for the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and ensure all pupils are engaged and making progress.
  • Lead small group interventions to support pupils who need additional help with their learning.
  • Provide cover for the class teacher in their absence, delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring the class is well-managed and pupils are on task.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher.
  • Manage behaviour in the classroom, ensuring all pupils are safe and following the school's behaviour policy.

Essential Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a HLTA in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and how to effectively support pupils' learning.
  • Ability to manage behaviour in the classroom and follow the school's behaviour policy.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience leading interventions to support pupils' learning.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Level 4 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
  • Experience using ICT to support teaching and learning.

About the Role: This is a 12-week temporary position with Reed Education, with the opportunity to move into a contract with the school after the initial period.
