Manufacturing Engineer - Production Support

Join Rolls-Royce Submarines as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Production Support Team and contribute to the development of manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture. As a key member of the team, you will drive continuous improvement activities and process control to ensure manufacturing processes meet quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work within a manufacturing cell to ensure application of manufacturing process controls and authorisation subject to appropriate delegation
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA to influence product definition and final form manufacture
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are followed to conform to product specifications, rigorously raise, investigate, and resolve quality and product safety-related issues
  • Collaborate with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for
  • Capture and utilise lessons learnt, identify, document, and share best practice, including participation in relevant Communities of Practice
Requirements:
  • Experience in fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, and machining of critical classified components
  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and proven record of technical problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with ability to present at all levels
About Rolls-Royce Submarines:

Our Manufacturing Engineers who provide Production Support are responsible for a group of technical manufacturing processes within large vessel manufacture, pumps & valves, or Core Nuclear reactor products.
