Job Title: Team Lead for Corporate Maintenance Solutions and Compliance

At Baker McKenzie, we are seeking an expert Team Lead for Corporate Maintenance Solutions and Compliance to join our Global Corporate Maintenance Solutions (GCMS) team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our team in delivering innovative and efficient corporate maintenance compliance solutions to our global clients.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the provision of corporate maintenance services and ensure technical quality.
  • Work with local legal experts worldwide to manage corporate maintenance deadlines for clients' entities globally.
  • Manage large-scale multi-jurisdictional corporate changes and develop knowledge and templates in this area.
  • Advising clients on any compliance issues identified by local legal experts and working with local experts to advise the best course of action.
  • Act as a lead client contact on GCMS projects and future opportunities.
  • Oversee the management and updating of client platforms by junior team members, including compliance trackers and corporate data.
  • Project manage the onboarding process for new GCMS clients, including transition planning and liaison with clients on the delivery of internal instructions.
  • Manage in-scope entities lists, fees, annual budgets, and invoicing.
  • Establish timing for completion of the initial compliance review and chair regular client update calls.
  • Supervise GCMS Legal Professionals and Administrators involved in the process.
  • Manage client expectations, cement the client relationship, and provide the GCMS team management and partners with regular updates.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of project and client-specific IT platforms.
  • Evaluate issues and escalate them to the GCMS Senior Manager as necessary, proposing solutions and independently implementing resolutions.
  • Take a lead role in business development opportunities, fee proposals, and client RFPs.
  • Assist the GCMS Associate Director in quarterly/bi-annual or annual client review calls and client visits, and in answering client queries regarding GCMS retainers, scope of services, and general queries to build lasting relationships with client contacts.

About the Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong technical background in corporate maintenance and compliance, excellent presentation and communication skills, and experience in project management. The ideal candidate will have a positive team member attitude and be an active contributor in a team environment. They will also have exceptional attention to detail, be able to manage multiple work tasks, prioritize time, meet deadlines, and propose solutions where conflicts exist.

Required Qualifications:

  • A graduate with a 2:1 preferred degree in a related field.
  • Previous professional services sector experience, ideally in a legal or company secretary role.
  • Previous experience leading people and supervising teams.
  • Strong technical skills, with experience of SharePoint an advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • A positive team member and active contributor in a team environment.
