Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Main Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced maintenance assistant to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance across the hospital site as part of Serco's Hard FM estates service to the NHS.
Main Accountabilities:
- Fire alarm testing and certification.
- Lamp replacement and light cleaning to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Emergency light testing and maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Replacement of nurse call leads and emergency pull chords to ensure effective communication and patient safety.
- Fire sprinkler testing and maintenance to ensure the hospital's fire safety systems are functioning correctly.
- Medical Gas routine testing and maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of medical gases.
- Assistance with lift entrapment and maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient movement of patients and staff.
- Boiler safety checks and chemical dosage checks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the hospital's boilers.
- Ventilation grille cleaning to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
- Water safety checks, including temperature monitoring, water sampling, and TMV servicing, to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of water services.
- Repair of leaking taps to prevent water damage and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Meter readings to ensure accurate billing and efficient resource allocation.
- Fire extinguisher checks and maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Replacement of fixtures and fittings to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Involvement in planned Operating Theatre maintenance work to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of surgical services.
What you will need for the role:
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of general Building Services.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
