Job Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to join our Central Security Team (CST) at GKN Aerospace. As a key member of the CST, you will provide Governance & Assurance, Audit, Training & Awareness, and Operational support to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust governance framework for security, including policy, standards, and guidelines.
- Participate in multi-functional audit programs to review current practices and controls, identify non-compliance gaps, and support improvement plans.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training through enterprise-wide campaigns on a programmed and incident-related basis.
- Provide operational support to business lines and individual manufacturing sites as needed.
- Liaise with business line chief operating officers and site security managers to understand specific security requirements and provide support.
- Provide subject matter expertise in key disciplines, including physical security controls, technical security systems, personnel security, physical information security, and travel security.
- Develop and provide clear direction, guidance, and support to the business on crisis management frameworks and procedures, including support for crisis management plans, training, and exercises.
- Conduct investigations as required.
- Deliver security awareness training.
Requirements
- Must be a US national, with the ability to obtain relevant security clearance.
- Proactive team player and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple programs across sites in varying geographies and time zones.
- Subject matter expertise and detailed knowledge of security risk management, including incident response.
- Understanding of threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment methodologies and processes.
- Experience in delivering and managing threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments, as well as security risk management programs.
- Knowledge of physical and technical security controls, including perimeter protection, fences, barriers, lighting, CCTV, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of physical information security, including potential risks, appropriate controls, and interdependencies.
- Experience in managing international travel and implementing proportionate risk management plans.
- IT proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in security risk management.
- Experience managing security in a corporate environment.
- Academic qualification in security management or security risk management (BSc or MSc).
- Background in military, police, or law enforcement.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Industry experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Investigations experience.
- Knowledge of data protection practices.
- Experience in budgetary management.
