Job Summary:

Fruition IT is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer - Azure Integration to join our team. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will play a vital role in shaping our application estate and delivering platforms and services that make a real difference.

About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned software engineer with a strong background in.Net and Azure integration. You will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining.Net applications and CI/CD pipelines that underpin all internal and external digital services. Your expertise will ensure security, stability, and capacity are embedded in the development and deployment of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop.Net applications and CI/CD pipelines that meet the needs of our digital services.
  • Ensure security, stability, and capacity are embedded in the development and deployment of services.
  • Champion a software engineering culture by creating and building close collaboration and working practices between product, engineering, and operational business services teams.
  • Manage and develop the software engineering capability by providing technical leadership for the in-house team and external suppliers.
  • Contribute to business case development, articulating benefits and return on investment.
  • Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience leading highly skilled software engineers and DevOps engineers, including mentoring and driving best practice.
  • Strong technical background, from a software engineering background, with strong experience in software engineering tooling and techniques.
  • Experience driving efficiencies through automation and process design and implementation, particularly in the automation of application deployment methodologies.
  • Strong experience in developing and maintaining Microsoft stack applications with the use of C#,.Net, and associated Microsoft tooling to be deployed in Azure.
  • Experience of the full Azure Integration Services package, especially Service Bus and API Management.
  • Experience of building and optimizing deployment pipelines and deployment strategies on popular CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience designing, securing, scaling, and administering cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-server services in a high availability production environment.
  • Solid understanding of containerization, ideally having implemented Docker containers into production environments.
  • Experience of Agile tools and processes, e.g., Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge and understanding of latest trends in software/DevOps/platform engineering methodologies, processes, and tools, as well as emerging solutions and ability to apply them when appropriate.
